The perfect winter cocktail for celebrating both Christmas and the New Year. Creamy white chocolate liqueur, crème de cacao and cream, combined with a kiss of orange citrus from fresh orange juice and Cointreau® orange liqueur, and a touch of nutty flavor from Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur, makes an exceptional winter sip. Our Sleigh Ride Cocktail is like drinking a subtle version of an Orange Creamsicle!
A New Holiday & Winter Classic:
Sleigh Ride White Christmas Cocktail
My friends, Christmas may be over but winter has just begun.
Although this may be a depressing thought for many, for those of us embracing all things Christmas as well as wintertime entertaining and merriment, this special cocktail, Sleigh Ride White Christmas Cocktail, will surely keep the holiday spirit alive and take us straight to ringing in the New Year and well into the winter season—perhaps right up to Valentine’s Day.
With its pleasant white chocolate liqueur base, added half-and-half cream and white crème de cacao, this creamy, snow white cocktail is kissed with refreshing bright flavor notes of orange citrus—both fresh squeezed orange juice and Cointreau® orange liqueur—as well as a hint of warming nutty Frangelico® hazelnut liqueur. It’s like drinking an Orange Creamsicle! Truly, our Sleigh Ride Cocktail will warm the proverbial cockles of the heart. You will love it.
The inspiration for this exceptional cocktail was Ella Fitzgerald’s enchanting Christmas vocals in, “Sleigh Ride,” as she carols of an ethereal “wintery fairyland” as well as the images I conjured up in my “Currier and Ives” Christmas holiday state of mind fully anticipating all things Christmas…snowfall, sleigh rides, snow-covered holly and berries, pine cones, jingle bells, the fresh scents of pine, warming spices and clove-studded orange pomanders. In addition, and without a doubt, the popular White Christmas Martini cocktail, created by Michael Wurm, Jr., of Inspired Charm, for Shari’s Berries® last year, provided much inspiration.
For mint lovers, our outstanding Peppermint Sleigh Ride Cocktail will more than fit the bill. Love. It. The all-natural peppermint flavor, in the white crème de menthe by Marie Brizard®, marries splendidly with the white chocolate liqueur and the grated or shaved dark chocolate garnish. It’s like drinking minty homemade chocolate peppermint bark made with fine-quality white chocolate!
So, although Christmas is over, the time for celebrating the season has only just begun.
This holiday weekend, mix up several batches of these winter white sips to enjoy with family and friends. You and your holiday guests will not regret it. I promise.

How to Make Sugared Rosemary Sprigs: Using a pastry brush, dip brush into crème de cacao liqueur (or water) and lightly brush rosemary sprigs. Over a small plate, and using a spoon, sprinkle granulated or superfine sugar over rosemary sprigs turning them to coat. Allow the sugared rosemary sprigs to dry, about 45 minutes to 1 hour, on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. Once dried, sugared rosemary sprigs are ready to use as a garnish. Sugared rosemary sprigs can be made up to three (3) days in advance. Store in a single layer in an airtight container at room temperature.
