A Valentine’s Day gift to you from Wicked Good Kitchen and the Vintage Paper Fairy…

As you may know, from either knowing me or reading my About pages, I am absolutely nutty about vintage anything and everything. Since I have a vintage paper passion that just won’t quit, I was inspired to create these beautiful and romantic vintage-styled Valentine’s Day gift tags for YOU, my readers.

Note: This post is from the archives. I am currently battling a demon flu bug. The Big Lug and I have had to postpone our Valentine’s Day celebration until next weekend. I hope to return next week or the following week with recipes for scrumptious treats.

The background image, the tag, was created from a scan of the back of an unprinted vintage postcard. From there, I used my magic pixel wand to create the angled edges at the top of the tag to match the other edges. Then, I incorporated a brass grommet to really make the scanned vintage paper appear to be a vintage tag.

The vintage cherub or cupid image is purchased clip art (from VectorStock.com) that I have recolored and altered which is known in the art world as “altered art.” Each cupid image has unique wording (12 sentiments in total with 6 tags per sheet) just like those adorable conversation heart candies. This way, there is the perfect saying or sentiment for any gift recipient on your Valentine’s Day gift list. How cool is that?

Here at Wicked Good Kitchen, we thank our Vintage Paper Fairy and her magic pixel wand for offering these pretty nostalgic Valentine’s Day gift tags as our free gift to you!

Enjoy these sweet gift tags and HAPPY VALENTINE’S DAY!

xoxo,

stacysig

    • Thank you, Maria! I hope you enjoy the tags. I appreciate the hugs and well wishes, my friend. It has been a tough go this past week. Truly, I have never been so sick in my life. So nice to hear that you adore vintage paper the way I do. I had a huge Victorian-Edwardian collection at one point and enjoyed trading with others via eBay for many years. Of course, I have high resolution scans of everything and it has been a joy to restore torn, ripped and faded pieces as a sort of hobby. Thanks again for stopping by. I hope you had a Happy Valentine’s Day!

  6. I’m sorry to hear you’re not feeling well, Stacy! These tags are adorable!
